His other accolades include: a four-time award-winner for magazine features/newspaper columns in the Golf Writers Association of America (1988, ’93, ’94, and 2003) the 1985 Canada National Magazine Award and three first-place awards from the Golf Journalists Association of Canada (2009, ’16, and ’17). In 2018, his career was recognised and honoured when he was named recipient of the PGA Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism. He has written or co-written 14 books, working with such notable golfers as Tiger Woods, Nick Price, George Knudson and Moe Norman. Rubenstein’s writings have appeared in golf magazines, newspapers and on websites around the world. Rubenstein’s famous book on golf in the Highlands, ‘A Season In Dornoch’, first published 20 years ago, helped promote and raise the visibility of Royal Dornoch – and continues to do so to this day. The Canadian has devoted some 40 years of his life to writing about golf at all levels and is a long-time member at Royal Dornoch.
